One year on

October 20, 2012 Leave a comment

I kind of feel ashamed.   I mean what kind of person starts a blog and then leave it almost a full year to the day before posting again?  Oh, that would be me then lol

So much has happened I would struggle to remember it all so I won’t try too hard but it’s probably an age thing too.  I suppose I could revisit my WW posts but the trouble is I recently cancelled my subscription – more about that later.

Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, New Year, exams, holidays, golf and football – just some of the things that have occurred in the last 12 months.  Guess I should run through a few of them for you.

My little boy was 6.  My wife recently turned 40.  I am fast approaching 45.  Nuff said.

The New Year came and went.  Lisa and Eddie were not well around Christmas and so the New Year was a bit of a wash out.  Then again isn’t it always?

I was right back into my football but unfortunately I got a nasty foot injury in December.  X-ray revealed it wasn’t broken but even now it’s not healed properly.   Think it’s permanently damaged and something I’ll need to live with but I am still playing as often as I can.  I seem to pick up knocks more often and they take longer to heal but as long as I can kick a ball around I will do so.

Despite the shocking weather I have managed to play a relatively decent amount of golf.  Our course has been playing long all year but I’ve not let it bother me.  Managed to take a few quid off the roll up boys and am in the shot book for 6 – it was 7 which is apparently a record.  Last month I won a major competition and my handicap is now 22 which will give me something to aim at next year.  Lisa and I will be attending the annual dinner at the golf club in a few weeks.  Its black tie and something I am looking forward to as I should be presented with a trophy on the night – amongst a flurry of other presentations lol

I have failed my ACCA P5 exam three times and have decided to change to P6 Advanced Tax instead.  Fingers crossed I can pass so I can stop studying – it’s been a long, challenging 5 years.

On the weight front I have had a fantastic year.  In March I reached my target weight of 15 stone which equates to 70lbs in modern language.  I actually have been ¼ of a pound under 15 but let’s not dwell on that.  At the moment I am 15 stone 8lbs and really enjoying life as I feel in control of what I am eating, rather than food controlling me.  I have now cancelled my WW subscription as I felt I wasn’t getting anything from it but continue to stick to pointing and being selective with regard to food choices.

Next time I’ll talk about how great Eddie has got at golf and his birthday plans for me and Lisa.

I am a little short of time so that’s your lot for this week.

Whatever you are up to, have a good one.

Until we next meet…
